Dr. Chris Alexander

Senior Pastor

Brother Chris grew up in a Christian home where both his parents taught him what it means to live as a Christian. When he was nine years old, he began to ask them about salvation. He surrendered his life to Jesus and asked Him to forgive him of his sins. Later, he was baptized at Poplar Heights Baptist Church, in Jackson, TN.

After moving to Memphis, TN in 1988, Brother Chris became involved in the youth group at Ridgeway Baptist Church. During the invitation of a revival meeting while in tenth grade, he surrendered to the call to the ministry. Since then, he has been blessed to serve in six different churches in various roles.

On November 8, 2008, God joined Brother Chris and his wife, Meredith, in Holy Matrimony. Together they have two children, a two year old son, Landry, and a daughter Amelia, who was born in October of 2013.

Brother Chris graduated from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in 1998 with a Master of Divinity. In 2009 God led him back to MABTS to earn a Doctor of Ministry, which was accomplished in May of 2013.

Brother Chris has a burden to lead our church in both missions and reaching children. Missions is not to be a program of the church, but the passion of the church. And missions is not to be some trip to go on, but a way of life, every day and everywhere. He loves children and wants to lead them to the Lord so they can be saved and discipled. For twelve years Brother Chris served as a youth pastor in three different churches.

Another area of passion for Brother Chris is the inerrant, infallible, inspired Word of God. It is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Every one of its righteous decrees endures forever, and we should strive to hide them in our hearts.

Brother Chris’s life verse is Isaiah 6:8, which says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”
